Lol! If the guy is going to have a legal carry permit, he shouldn't have had it in plain view. He brought it on himself. It's hard to feel sorry for stupidity.

I'd bet that happens a lot, especially with guys who "carry" to show
they are "men," but in reality are scared of their shadows.

The last time I was shot at was in the Grande Isle, LA, area, while part
of a small team organizing supply ship workers. The shooter was a
rent-a-cop with a short temper who was "guarding" the chain link fence
and gate at a maritime facility. I was all for calling the sheriff but
the local guys I was with said the deputies were likely to finish the job.

Probably more small arms "action" in that one incident than most of the
highly decorated military vets who post in this newsgroup saw in Vietnam.
