My Agent 6 somehow got busted in the transfer process. Even trying to reinstall it from the last download didn't work. Dunno about 6 but my version can just be copied form a working version. Copy over the whole directory and you are good to go. I really only had to "install" it once and put in the key. That was 5 or 6 machines ago. Good tip. Wish I'd tried that four days ago! With your complete lack of computer skills, you wouldn't have managed that properly, either. You would have gone to Apple care? No. Bilious. If it isn't an Apple app and there is an unresolved problem, I would go to the app vendor. So you don't know computers either. |

But, like Greg, I made my living fixing and designing computer equipment, so normally if an app does not work, it means it is junk, and get rid of it. These days user groups are generally more helpful than the vendor. The advantage of old apps is they have a well developed user base and most of the bugs are worked out. There is no way I would be interested in beta versions off anything unless I was being paid to debug it. That is the definition of a hobby I run apple now. And other than Mathlab which I have not yet tried to install, I use very few apps, other than a couple games, and my ipad has some games for the granddaughters. Wife liked the clean lines of the imac for the desktop. And the ipad makes a good traveling device. Nice reading app, Kindle, and gets email and deals with a couple boating fishing websites, and my investment accounts while needed traveling. Do not need as much power now. |

I'm with Greg and Bill. My phone has apps I don't use because I don't feel I need them. I just can't see getting the latest gadget because you can. Basically on my phone I do have internet capability, Facepie, and a weather app. Those are the ones I use occasionally. The rest? No need.
