I do find it interesting that the Montana DOT puts up metal crosses
every where they had a fatal traffic accident. What if the victims
were Jewish .or atheists?

I haven't spent much time in your part of Florida. There are plenty of
Jews on the other side of your state, from just south of the middle of
the coastline down through the Keys. It's apparently the #1 retirement
area. Lots of Jewish temples, stores, regular restaurants, kosher
restaurants, et cetera, in the Ft. Lauderdale area, and a significant
number of Hasids, which I thought interesting.

The Jews, bless them, ain't interested in converts.

I haven't spent much time in your part of Florida. There are plenty of
Jews on the other side of your state, from just south of the middle of
the coastline down through the Keys. It's apparently the #1 retirement
area. Lots of Jewish temples, stores, regular restaurants, kosher
restaurants, et cetera, in the Ft. Lauderdale area, and a significant
number of Hasids, which I thought interesting.

The Jews, bless them, ain't interested in converts.

There is a small Jewish contingent in SW Florida but nothing like the
East coast.
The folks on the West coast generally came down I-75 (midwesterners)
and the East coast people are more I-95 folks from the north east.

One of my IBM friends explained some of the Jewish traditions to our
daughter when she was thinking about being Jewish. I actually learned
some things I never knew too.
He and his brother came down from the NYC area. They started in Boca
and IBM moved them to Ft Myers.


My last regular "exposures" to organized religion were while I was at
college. There were few places to get a decent breakfast on Sunday
mornings. The Jews and the Episcopalians put on a very good brunch. The
Episcopalians had a Sunday service you had to attend first, but the Jews
simply had a great feed. The girls were equally pretty at both places,
so I alternated. I liked the Anglican Chant singing at the Episcopal
services.

One of my buddies in college became an Episcopal priest, and another
became a Southern Baptist preacher. I still communicate with the priest.
