When I win it I'll record my strumming and send you a .mp3. :-) Meanwhile, check out the Heritage H525 on the website. That's one of my guitars (along with the Polytone amp). I finally decided that I don't have enough time left on this planet to learn jazz chord melodies so I may as well sell it and stick to strumming my Tele and Strat. |
Hey Richard
That heritage is a fine guitar. I have a poly tone mini brute exactly like yours. It was once owned by Carol Kaye, it's a better guitar than bass amp but for low volume it does fairly well.

True jazz players typically use something much smaller. The last concert we had included a jazz guitar player who plays with the Boston Pops. His amp was a little thing, about 12" by 12" by 4". Class A, 5 watts with simple, on/off and volume controls. Obviously we mic'd it through the mixing board to go through the PA system. Short clip, but I love the sound of his guitar ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSCpCEiobGk |

Free boat rides in exchange. You'd be pretty disappointed with me Wayne. On guitar I am only good for playing rhythm and I am not great at that. It is said that a minimum of 10,000 hours of practice is required to become proficient on the guitar, doing scales until they become finger muscle memory. Then you have to start working on what the right hand is doing. I probably have a total of five hundred hours. Running out of time. :-) |

Hey Richard
Great clip! I know what you mean by small amps. There's a local here that played through some customade amp that he calls a 'lunch box'. Very clean for only about 15w

Part of the article related how he really was the controlling force in the band, and one thing he did is to turn down the volume of the guitar amps and mic them really up close. He wanted listeners to be able to hear the clear notes instead of the distorted fuzz that many band prefer. |

I'd say yes to about all the above. Don't know for a fact but have 'heard' that Malcomeay be suffering from dementia. I'm sure there is that possibility. Thing I read said he had a stroke, and it left him with some issues and the inability to perform musically. He just can't play anymore. Too bad. I saw them in the late '70s in a fairly small venue when Bon Scott was still alive. Scott put Angus on his shoulders and walked him out through the audience during a guitar solo. They passed right in front of me. They definitely put on a high energy show. |

Hey Richard
I turn on the radio on my boat and listen to somebody else play their guitar(s). It's safer for me as well as my company:)

Croat? I thought she was Serbian. Oh we'll. close enough, I'd say...

Hey Richard
Strokes are unforgiving. That's what happened to Barney Kessel. Sad demise for one of the greatest be-bop jazz guitarists known.

Hey Richard
20 tickets to go. I put a plug for the raffle on my side of FB just a bit ago.

Thanks for sharing. It's hard to believe that she has enough strength in those long, skinny fingers to play like that. |

Is when I break out the guitar. I have tried and tried to catch stripers anchor fishing. Never caught one that way. Always caught my limit trolling, but never at anchor. Probably the bait. |
