You know your behind when

I found a cellphone in the road yesterday while at a stop sign.
No one was around to return it to, so I picked it up. When I got to work
I punched a button and the screen displayed, it had 9 circles in a 3 x 3
array. I recently learned this is a password type thing that you swipe a
pattern in to open the phone. So I decided I'd just need to wait for it
to ring. The first time it rang a big green circle with a handset
inside, alright, I pushed it, "hello, hello" no one there. Awhile later
it rang again, same thing no one there.
I walked up to where there were some young people, and ask how to answer
the phone. I was told to try swiping the big green button.
The next time it rang, it was the owners wife, she was relieved to find
the phone safe. The relieved husband picked it up later. He offered me a
handful of change as if it was the last money he had.

I sent him on his way just happy that I learned how to answer a phone.

Cool. Tell Tim. He lost his. Or, was it Tim that picked it up? Big guy, kinda looks like a grizzly?

LOL! I doubt it is mine. My phone was a beat up old Motorola LG flip-phone. Nothing magic about it.

Anyhow, I'm graduating up to the wife's "old" phone, because she went to the verizon store and got herself a new iphone. Bad thing is it takes some hours to download all her pics and general stuff over to her new one.

So, I'm still out of the phone business for a while.

Hated to lose all my phone contacts though....

The important question is; did all your phone contacts hate it that you lost them?

:)

Some are probably welcoming the loss with open arms!

Almost as bad as a harddrive crash!
That reminds me, one of these days I need to backup my harddrives.

There's no excuse for losing your phone contacts. There are many simple
and free ways to back them up to several places. Verizon has such a
service and I'm sure most of the other carriers do, too.

If you want something better, GMAIL is a reliable place to back up
contacts, and you can easily sync them with your computer and
smartphone. The GMAIL contact backup is free.

I have an old dumb phone but it still talks to my PC..
I just have a directory on my mirrored set that I sync with the phone.
That updates the music I seldom use and all of the contact/setup info.

As I stated, there is no excuse for losing your phone contacts...
They're easy to back up to any number of places, and easy to restore, too.
