The good news is that they are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. The bad news is that you will have to figure out what type you need. Between all of our collective wisdom here, we can probably figure it out. The big variables are case type and mother board model. |

Well, I've got my laptop hooked up so I suppose I'm good to go. it's a win 7 machine. I'm not used to a lappy, but i suppose I need to get used to it. I've sure freed up a lot of dess space though. Bad thing about this is the keyboard is too flat, print needss enlarged, fingers are too fat to hit the right keys. et c. Maybe I oughta quit griping and geet used to it. LOL! But I still eed to take the old one and this one to a tech and have stuff (minus the bugs & bacterias!)transfered over. |

If it is just the power supply that blew out, you may or may not be able to find a replacement that fits and works properly with the "remains" of what is in the case. And if I recall, you live quite a distance from a city that might have a real computer parts store. If it is a name brand desktop, the vendor might be able to sell you one direct, or perhaps you can find one on eBay. But even if you find a replacement, the blow out might have caused damage to circuits on the motherboard. It happens. You might consider just ordered a new desktop and monitor from someone like HP. You can get a new machine and monitor for under $500, and it will work properly right out of the box. If you hurry, you can do that before all the machines with Win 7 are sold off. Win 8, I am told and have read, is a real P.O.S. Here's one: http://tinyurl.com/kbsp46q Very nice monitors are available from many retailers for $100-#150. -- Rand Paul & Ted Cruz…your 2016 GOP nominees, because ‘Mericans deserve crazy! |

Just plug in an external keyboard. done did that. and the mouse too! I can send you a power supply if this is a full sized case machine. I appreciate the offer. but I'm gonna retire the tower anyhow. I'm really digging this HP Pavilion g7 I always blamed the boredom on a slow internet service, but this has changed all that. compared to the old, this is lightning fast. http://content.hwigroup.net/images/p...ed_d2r80ea.jpg So this week I'm taking the tower and this laptop to a local techie and have him transfer everything over. I'm sure he has oodles of power supplies laying around too. |
