I am still at a loss I can't figure out what is best?
I know you racer types know all about twinking for speed I guess I am asking

what happens when you rake the main forward?

you will get lee helm if you rake forward.. the boat will want to turn
downwind all the time.

If you rake aft you will get weather helm. About 3-5 degrees of weather helm
is desirable in most boats.
