Here's an edited response: My comments about the name-calling etc, refer to name-calling done while in a discussion with you. No one could expect you to come down on anyone for comments made while in a discussion with someone else. Your comments about 'filtering' and then bitching apply to Harry or Scott, I suppose. I don't have anyone but slammer filtered. I think the continuous use of an anti-religion signature is offensive to some. Perhaps we simply differ on the meaning of 'tacit agreement'. -- Hope you're day is spectacular! |

MSNBC 2013 Highlights

I for one don't give a hoot who believes what. I also don't care if schools teach the *theories* of evolution or the *theories* of creationism. Both exist in our society ... as your Pew survey points out, so why suppress one at the expense of the other? As long as they are presented as *theories* and not necessarily as proven fact by the school's curriculum, it seems to me that it only broadens a person's education. It is disappointing to see someone of your technical intellect conflate the meaning of a scientific theory with an ordinary hypothesis. The theory of evolution is the scientific theory the explains the mechanisms of the verified fact of evolution. There *is no* scientific theory of creation. It is untestable and unverifiable. This highlights how poor our media presents scientific/technical issues to the general public. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. |
