Repairing Old Hobie Hull Top

Hi
I have an old Hobie 14T with a patch of warping of the fibreglass on the
deck of each hull, in a patch of about 20cm just fore of the crossbar, where
the rubber tie downs pull down on this patch of deck. My guess is that the
previous owner left the boat in the sail club yard where the sun reflected
off the crossbar onto the hull, like a magnifier, then the rubber pulldown
holding
the boat on the trailer, pulling down on the hull hard collapsed the
softened fibreglass.
It is quite strong in these small areas, you can bang it hard and it sounds
as good
as anywhere else on the hull.

What I was wondering is could I patch this area. I would need to apply the
sort of stipple finish to the filled surface that appears all over the hull
tops, then coat the colour over the top. It looks like a sort special sort
of topcoat. Mine is orange. Its pretty faded and worn in parts as this is
an early Hobie.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers
