BIMINI
Sounds like you best learn the fine art of route planning and navigation
with chart, compass, pencil and calculator before you go. You need to answer that question for your self and your boat. A PC based Nav program can even give you a rough idea but you need to be able to answer that for yourself. Buy asking that question here you could get all kinds of ETA advice from a go-fast 25 knot catamaran to a lost Captn Ron with a 25' Leaky Teaky. Nothing would tell you what YOU are likely to encounter beyond a range of times. "marklan" wrote in message news:y5ijc.44236$_L6.2923302@attbi_s53... Thanks Takes us the better part of a day, wait for a nice day, make the best speed possible, better to use the engine for lack of wing than to have too much wind. over the course of my first trip to the bahamas I met three different sailors who had broken their arms crossing the stream you will have fun, bring $$$$ |

Is there anyone out there that has sailed to Bimini from the keys.I am
planing a trip and need to know roughtly how much time it takes? Thanks I've done it three times from Miami, twice before Gps. It's not that bad. Better to overcompensate for the stream than under. It's no big hassle to turn north to Bimini after reaching the shallows of the bahama bank. Cat Cay has a nice anchorage, but it's easier to call in at Bimini. Good luck, John. |
