I don't "hate" the bible, Tim. I even like the King James version

I know for a fact that there are many right-wing bible thumpers in this
country who are working hard to push their religious beliefs onto those

It isn't about the flying pigs, it is about those who worship flying
pigs. Most people believe there are no flying pigs, so they don't
create thousands of flying pig denominations so that they can force
and or coerce their particular flying pig beliefs on others.

Odd how one makes perfect sense to you, while the other seems totally
ridiculous.

Working hard and 'forcing' are two different things. There's nothing wrong with peacefully
attempting to persuade another to believe as one does. You do that several hundred times a week,
quite stupidly I might add.

Some Muslims (your darling children), on the other hand, tend to cut off heads and shoot folks who

Well, that's been established for over 235 years. Did you think it would
be overturned next week?

I know for a fact that there are many right-wing bible thumpers in this
country who are working hard to push their religious beliefs onto those
who believe differently. A good number of those thumpers are politicians.

A lot less are pushing their religious belief on others than the group that
is forcing their political belief on others. You and your leftists are
that group!

You should start a thread to discuss your feelings about groups that
force their political beliefs on others. Let us know when one of those
groups forces you to have an abortion.

Those political groups are forcing people who are against abortion, or even
those who are against late term abortion to pay for those same abortions.
I am not against first term abortion, just late term abortion. But if you
can afford to get knocked up, you and the sperm donor can pay for the
abortion or morning after pill.

If you can afford a pack of cigarettes, you should pay for your cancer treatment.

If you are hit by a car, you should pay for your own treatment...or burial.

And so on, ad nauseum.

Those smokers are paying for their cancer treatment. Huge taxes on
tobacco. NYC is like $13 a pack, mostly taxes. Getting knocked up is not
really an accident. Car crashes are. With the amount of different birth
control available, besides an aspirin held between the knees, there should
be an extremely small rate of accidental knocking up! Smokers are a
smaller draw on societies money than most groups. They die earlier, do not
collect Social Security or not for long, and pay huge amount of taxes for
the habit.

Yes, we know. Liberals do a lot of talking about how badly conservatives /Christians treat women.
But the statement you made says a lot. Being an atheist gives you all the latitude in the world for
how you treat women, doesn't it? Nothing you force on them would be contrary to your 'religion'.

But then, perhaps you're a Muslim, which would explain your statement.

It seems that your carbon copy has been thrown off Eternal September.
Notice his new news server.

By the way, Harry has revealed that the source of his religious hatred
stems from his wife's religiosity interfering with his tranquility. Now
that we know what his real problem is, I'd like to help him resolve it.
I thought of suggesting that he bring it out in the open with her or at
least a shrink. But that would probably cause him to be evicted from his
basement apartment. I would hate to think of him being holed up at an
internet cafe or homeless mission; especially over the holidays.
As a good Christian, I'm sure you'd like to offer him some help as well.
