Wi Fi hot spots...

For those who need it, Verizon tosses in a free wifi hot spot capability with its "share" agreements. Another name for it is tethering. With it, you can "wi fi" connect a device that needs web or email access where wi fi access is not available. The phone connects over the data network and creates a wi fi log in capability for the other device. There's no monthly charge for the hot spot app, but, of course, it does dip into your data allotment. Some other carriers offer this, and some of them charge for the hot spot app. -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |

Not just on the coast, virgin has crappy coverage just about everywhere except in a city. When we moved to southern Maryland, it didn't take long to realize the coverage from AT&T I had at the time wasn't going to hack it. AT&T was great in downtown DC, though, but here there were dead spots almost everywhere. So, for about a week, wherever I was where I saw people using cells, I asked which cell service they were using. A majority said "Verizon." So, I switched to Verizon and immediately had much better coverage. I don't know what quality of coverage down here AT&T has these days. I don't know anyone using Virgin Mobile. I do know a couple of people who use Sprint, but I've been told its coverage here is also spotty. Verizon has an owned and operated store nearby, and there almost always is a long waiting period to get help. Undermanned. :( -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |
