For my money it is the best ever - very fast and stable. So how did the corn crop turn out this year? After I got used to Win 8, I really like it. It boots SO much faster than 7. My buddy at the guitar shop recently purchased a new Dell laptop running Windows 8. It looks identical to the previous Dell laptop he had running Win 7. I was manning the shop for him one morning while he went to a doctor's appointment and went to use the computer, not knowing it was new. At first I was stumped, looking for the "Start" button icon. But it only took a minute or so for me to figure out how it worked and I am not the brightest person with computers. It seemed to be a decent operating system and easy to use. |

At least three of the programs my wife uses don't play nice with Win 8. One of them doesn't even have a substitute for the functions she uses. |

Boots almost instantaneous, for starters. The constant Windows updates aren't as intrusive, work in the background. And, for those of us that have *other people* who run a computer but freeze when a problem occurs, Win8 actually tells you there is a problem, then if you give it the go ahead, fixes it. |

My brothers in law could use a tough cellphone like that.
They are tough on their phones due to their construction work. |

Way too many. I've been pleased with XP, but I do hear good things about Win 7. John H. -- Hope you're having a great day! |
