Insurance Question for Canadian Boaters

Hi There,

Does anyone know of some insurance in the Toronto area that insure first
time boaters?

We have had a little problem finding Marine insurance companies to begin
with, a couple have told us they don't insure first time boaters.

HELP

How big is your boat? Our household insurance provides $2M liability if the
LOA is 26 and the motor is 25 HP.

FWIW

You want to take a Canadian Yachting Association or Power Squadron
course. Many insurance companies favourably look on boating
certification.
