Come back to inane comments.
Went on an 8 day long range tuna trip out in San Diego on the Independence. Good fishing first couple days, bluefin at the last did not want to come up and bite. Boat the day before we got to the bluefin area about 100 miles from SD got 7 or 8 over 125# fish and a lot more 60#ers. The two boats that fished when we did scored zero. Did bring back 20 and processed 430# of fish. Facebook/independencesportfishing has some pics from the trip. |

How are the food and accomodations aboard that boat? |

How are the food and accomodations aboard that boat? First rate on both food and accommodation. The Indy is only 10 years old, and one of the nicer riding boats. Steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Widest of the boats. 2 and 3 bunk staterooms, with AC and TV. Wifi on board. Could not seem to get wreck boats via iPad. Prime rib first night, rack of lamb one night. Breakfast, morning soup snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner. Free soda bar, beer available for purchase, bring your own hard liquor and wine. Crackers, and candies available all the time. All included. Too much food. We did have fish a couple times. Cooked up small of the smaller catch donated by us. They will furnish rods and reels for free, you pay for the line. About $5 a top shot. I bought the trip for less at an auction, but figure $2800 for an 8 day, plus $220 for MX permits and fuel surcharge. Fuel depends on price at time of trip. $300-400 tip. Crew is top. Deck hands at this level are all good, personable, and all had their 100 ton ticket. |
