Local container pier just installed two super gantry cranes at it's south end location in the hope that these Post Panamax ships come here.
A few years ago two of the cranes were installed at the north end location of the competing container pier.

They say this trip is going to run the China to Europe route.
The Suez does not have the Panama problem. It is about 1000 feet wide
and no locks.

Interesting, the Suez has not locks. Never thought about it.
