The strange thing is this did not even happen "in this country" it was
half a world away.

Thailand is not the US and things are different there. Child
prostitution is OK but OMG a cartoon selling doughnuts is an outrage.

I'd still like one of you FOXites to show me where this has anything to
do with Sharpton.

Sharpton just sets the stage for lots of other people to be offended
at things they would think were funny if they were left to their own
thoughts.

It is similar to people who go out of their way to find
"accessibility" issues in places where it was never an issue ... like
the requirement for a wheelchair accessible stripper pole.

In other words, Sharpton is to blame for everything, whether he's
involved or not, got it. That certainly says a lot about your
credibility.

He is certainly a person who drives the "racial outrage" business and
makes a nice penny doing it.

Please, I've asked, show me how Sharpton persuaded these people in
Thailand.

If our society were less racist, there would be less racial outrage.
We've got Republican politicians in this country openly admitting they
are making it tougher for blacks and other minorities to vote because
these people tend not to vote for Republican candidates, and not because
there is serious voter fraud. But I am sure you will try to rationalize
this away, too, because if the folks being shut out weren't, white rule
would come to an end a lot sooner.

Racism.

Black people are as racist as whites. It is just politically incorrect
to say it.

There you go putting every single black, and every single white into one
very narrow category. SOME black people are certainly racist, just as
SOME white people are.

They would rather have the issue than to have a solution.
Latinos came here with far greater disadvantages and they are
succeeding. Nobody gave them the "victim" excuse.

Black people don't want a solution? But, let me guess, white people do?
All of them, too right?

In the eyes of the racists, Sharpton is a metaphor for all the "uppity
blacks" demanding equal rights and other "racial outrages", including
the right to vote and the right to not be harassed because of the color
of their skin by the police.

White racism against people of color is still rampant in this country,
and it is being revved up by conservative Republicans.

No one should be allowed to vote without valid identification - black,
white, pink, green or any other shade in between. It's not racism,
just good administration of a cornerstone of our democratic process.

Do you really believe that? Why is that many blacks do manage to
succeed if they work hard at getting an education, learning relevant
skills and avoiding drugs?

That is basically it. Sharpton has his panties in a wad over a
chocolate doughnut ad that only ran in Thailand.
I doubt anyone there thought it was racist,

There are many reasons and a long history for blacks in this country to
find the use of blackface repugnant anywhere it is found, and especially
when a corporation with deep American roots is using it.

Is whiteface just a repugnant? If not why isn't racism a two way street?

Voter ID is racist? Voter ID makes it 'tougher' to vote? That's true only for the votes after the
first.

Voter ID's are no more 'making it tougher to vote' than driver's licenses make it tougher to drink
beer.

Yada yada yada. You really work hard to maintain your racist
rationalizations.

White racism directed towards blacks helps keep blacks on the lowest
rung of the economic ladder. Whatever black racism is directed towards
whites has not had a similar effect.

What's interesting is how hard the GOP is working to project racism
against latinos. It's going to continue to backfire. :)

Lack of education and the making of too many kids keep blacks on the lowest rung of the ladder. How
is a child with seven siblings in a home with no father where subsistence is welfare and food stamps
and mama quit school in the tenth grade a result of white racism?
