Right-Wing Claims Facebook Unjustly Targeting Them; Plans Boycott
Author: Randa Morris August 25, 2013 6:55 pm

Oh no. This is horrible news. Conservatives are boycotting Facebook this
Sunday. What ever will we liberals do with no trolls to block, no crazy
people to laugh at, no hate-spewing, foul-mouthed Facebook stalkers to
report, no uninformed morons to explain to us the “facts” they
discovered by visiting web-sites like Breitbart, Infowars, and the
lunaticfringe.com? What will we do without the meme misinformation
campaign, the racist photos, the threats of armed rebellion – not to
mention the dire warnings about the evil “homosexual agenda?”

Conservatives have decided to boycott, claiming that they have been
“unfairly targeted” by Facebook. They say that their accounts have been
blocked and they have been subject to censorship for “simply expressing
their beliefs.” hmmm

Maybe the problem is that their beliefs are at odds with Facebook
policies, as well as the laws of pretty much every civilized society in
the world. For instance, the belief that killing people is a good way to
solve your problems. That belief does indeed conflict with Facebook
policies, and with many US laws as well. Who knew?

Indeed.

Conservatives boycotting girlish, gossipy social media. Good for them.

One supposes that where FlaJim/Hank is concerned, ignorance is bliss.

Most of what time I spend on FB is within two special interest groups of
longtime friends, many of whom date back to grammar school. It's not
very political. It is social, however. Many of us get together
frequently or, in the case of one of the groups, two or three times a year.

Couple of years ago, I "ran into" one of my old high school buddies on
FB, a fellow with whom I lost touch with when we were both around 24 or
25. That was nice enough, but a few minutes into our conversation, I
found out he had been divorced some years earlier and had remarried a
widow, who turned out to be one of my high school sweeties who he had
wanted to date back in the day. We all yak on the phone every week, even
though he is a "New England" Republican, and probably one of the last.
:) We stayed at their beach house a summer ago.

Contrast that with rec.boats, where there are maybe three people I'd
consider meeting in person.

It's nice to see you justifying your Facebook allegiance to Tim. I'm sure he gives a rat's ass.

Personally, I think you should spend a lot more time there.
