Seeing how John and Scotty like to put everyone in narrow categories,

I couldn't provide proof that the person christians worship as jesus even existed. The tales about him were not written contemporaneously, and probably not to those to whom they are attributed. The baptist belief about grape juice, of course, is promoted because of the sect's disdain for alcoholic drinks. But, if jesus did exist, he was a practicing jew and wine was important to jewish celebrations and festivals. Wine, not grape juice. |
