'Simple Simon', you are a troll, who just likes to make trouble.

A lot of people, on a number of newsgroups, appear to be making very similar
comments to the one Duncan made above.

Who know's what his problem is?

The problem is small, rigid-minded people who are afraid
to change their misconceptions and comfy little view of
reality. When anybody comes along with facts that dispute
their little dream worlds they hearken back to their days
on their daddy's lap when they were read fairy tales and
the word 'troll' pops into what passes for their minds.

I hope you will read my reply to Duncan Heenan where I
quoted Sir Robin's own words to prove he got off his
boat and went ashore.

You are simply wrong Simon, and you are not quoting from RKJ's book 'A World
of My Own'. I don't know what you are quoting from, but it isn't that. A
launch came out to him, but he did not board it. nor did anyone board
Suhali. This is borne out by RKJ's own account told to me in person about 6
years after the voyage. I think it is you who can not accept the truth SS.

I have "A World of My Own" and am quoting directly from
it. Anybody who also has the book can look it up and verify
it. It is in the "Melbourne to Otago" section, Page 118-119.

Nowhere does it say that he went ashore or broke the rules governing the
event.
Your accusation is false and unsupported by any evidence.

Go ahead and ignore the quotes. It only serves to
make your argument invalid. What kind of evidence
do you require if you refuse to believe the man
who wrote the words. You do him a disservice and
call him a liar. Then you have the nerve to call me
a liar. Where are your facts? Lying is easy. Facts
are harder to come by.

Knox-Johnston ran aground on the ebb trying to get
into the bay at Otago, New Zealand where he intended
to anchor to meet with his friend and coordinator
Bruce. He navigated poorly, failed to consult a chart,
assumed the water was deeper than it was and went
aground around four in the afternoon and did not get
off until the tide lifted him off around midnight. He was
stopped for six hours or so. He did not go round
non-stop. It doesn't get any more clear than this.

I'm not making some claim based upon my 'feelings'.
Rather, I am making a statement based upon Sir
Robin's own words published in his own book, "A World
of my Own". Get a copy of that book and see for
yourself. Rid yourself of your fantasies, foolishness
and bias. Sir Robin makes no claim of going round
non-stop. Why do you insist upon putting words in
his mouth?

Not so much a liar, "Captain", more a self important bag of wind.
