Past winter project
My project of last winter is about to have it's grand opening. There
was a lot more construction done not seen in the stage picture, including the building of additional rooms and some major re-wiring. Now it's time to put it to use. http://richarderiksson467.wix.com/richard-eriksson#!page-five/c1j1a |

Nice work. ------------------------------------------ Believe it or not my son looked into having the Eagles perform at a private get together we had about 10 years ago. He contacted their booking agency who said that if they happened to be touring in our general area, it was possible to hire them (if they thought it was interesting). They were scheduled to perform in Providence, RI around the time we were having the event, so my son took it to the next step. I've forgotten exactly what the fee was but it was well over $100 grand plus transportation, equipment and other specific requirements ... all for about a one hour performance. It would have been a blast but we decided to set up a PA system and play CDs instead. I have worked out an arrangement with a local guy who owns the largest backstage equipment rental company in New England. He supplies instruments, sound systems, lights, Hammond B3s and other equipment to major touring bands when they are in the Boston area. He also supplies equipment and gear for the Comcast Center, Wang Center and other major venues. He told me that he is often asked for recommendations for small performance venues in the area for rehearsals and photo/video shoots for advertising. There are a couple of places in Boston and one in central MA that they use for these purposes but there is nothing on the south shore where we are. He's going to start including us in his recommendations and will supply any equipment needed. I've been to his office a few times. His walls are lined with pictures of him with musicians including James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Willie Nelson and many others who he has rented sound and instruments to over the years. There are two venues in our area, one in Cohasset (South Shore Music Circus) and another near Hyannis on the Cape that book major performers during the summer months. Our place would be ideal for them. So, we'll see who we get to meet. |
