Pro: good one eliminate the need for a topping lift as it takes the boom
load when the halyard is freed.
Con: cost

Since you were asking about a tent for a luger 16 you might want to look
into the boom-kicker...reasonably inexpensive and works well on smaller keel
boats

Tom...thanks...that's what I thought..

BTW, I have a Gulf 27 Pilot House...someone else was searching for the
tent and had a few pics. In any event, I searched boom kicker and it is
likely that they are better for smaller boats.
