Thanks, ESAD.

Sooner or later the word will be on the streets about Carnival. Disney will
probably raise their
prices. Damn shame, but a cruise on the Disney Magic across the ocean to
Barcelona will still be
worth it. Disney must be about the only cruise line that uses ocean liners.
Nice!

The Disney ships are not ocean liners. They are cruise ships decked out as
ocean liners. The only true liner is service today is Queen Mary 2,
currently in New Zealand. She's the only one that braves winter North
Atlantic.

Why would anyone want to do a repeat of the Titanic adventure? If I had
the choice of going on an ocean voyage I sure as hell wouldn't pick
crossing the North Atlantic when I could float around the Caribbean.

Relaxing on an across the ocean voyage on a Disney ship would be fun just for the boat ride. But,
more fun would be boarding the ship in Barcelona for the Mediterranean cruises after it crosses.

Why would you want to be on a gargantuan ship in order to explore the Med?

Gargantuan? Where did that come from?

Secondly, why not do it on a ship? I've done it by motorcycle, might as well try relaxing between
the big cities.

Hopefully the cruise liners will fare better than the ocean liners.

I remember being on the last Matson ocean liner going from Honolulu into
Los Angeles. There was thick fog, less than 100 yards visibility and the
ship had a large contingent of Naval officers who were returning
stateside with their families. My dad, who had commanded destroyers was
especially jumpy and if he could he would have order the ship to stay
off shore until the fog lifted.

Of being on a Disney ship on a tour of the Med? Don't be silly. I
wouldn't step on a Disney ship for a tour of Ft. Lauderdale or wherever
their U.S. home port is. I don't like big cruise ships.

Sometimes, when ships make seasonal or change of port crossings, they
offer fantastic deals to make the journey with them.
