Gosh, the number of guns has soared and the number of gun deaths goes down. I'm sure the liberals will argue there's no relationship. -- Salmonbait All decisions are the result of binary thinking. |

Gosh, the number of guns has soared and the number of gun deaths goes down. I'm sure the liberals will argue there's no relationship. Oh, you stupid old fool!!! PLEASE do show the correlation between number of guns in the U.S. and the number of crimes committed. Go ahead! Here's one graph that may interest you: http://tinyurl.com/c2xd6p9 Here's another: http://www.businessinsider.com/shoot...n-laws-2012-12 Here's one where you can correlate the amount of gun murders with the gun laws, stricter laws less gun crime. http://tinyurl.com/yonjpg Your turn! The fools who support elevated gun ownership assume (without cause) that more gun ownership equals safer environments, when in reality its the exact opposite. Don't bother telling them, they'll just continue to believe what they want no matter the reality. It's the same as believing the bible is the word of god. Fantasy is cool when you need to believe. |

Starting in 1994 with the election of Mayor Rudy Giuliani, NYC adopted a tough minded policing strategy where laws already on the books were vigorously enforced, and new management strategies were employed to ensure that the police were deployed when and where they were most needed. It sounds simple and obvious but for years NYPD officers had looked the other way while petty crime was running rampant. Mayor Giuliani correctly observed that for the most part, petty crimes and serious crimes were being committed by the same people. |

But it doesn't make big headlines in the liberal press like Maryland's new gun-control law. Now they've doubled the amount of things needing policing, so everything will get half as much attention. Stop the ****, drugs and illegals, coming across the border, and I'm sure we'd see some big drops in shootings. Salmonbait -- Maryland doesn't have a new gun control law, yet. A bill passed the Senate and I believe it is still under consideration in the other chamber. Then, if passed, it has to be signed by the governor. A sizeable majority of Maryland residents approve of the new measures. There's nothing in the legislation that will interfere with legitimate hunters or those wishing to protect those in their households. Oh, and Maryland doesn't have a border with another country, even if Herring believes it does. |
