I suppose it provides low end power to get a water skiier up and going I had a 60 big foot on my boat for 10 years, 3075 hours and it was a good motor. My 70 Yamaha is basically the same with the same prop. (I moved it over). I would have bought another 60 Merc but that China thing bothered me. I got the extra 2 year warranty due to a time limited promotion last year.. Motor came with 3 year warranty... so now I have 5 years. Trouble is...the extra 2 years only covers mechanical... not electrical. If I want the 'Platinum Plan' to cover electrical too for the additional 2 years i have to pay about $110.00 by May 31. I'd say 'do it!' that's cheap insurance. |
