For the link challenged, it says the networks should give candidates
free air time.

I agree 100% and have for quite a while.

The problem is this is a cash cow for the media and they have no
interest in doing it. They will put in their own ad campaign telling
us how it will endanger our freedom.

Besides, without this black hole to dump bribe money in. How would the
special interests buy the government?

I don't know. That's a good question to ask the NRA, they are VERY good
at it....

Yes, but the NRA is pumping money into politics to bolster an object
that is made for killing.

Would you feel better if guns could also be used for plowing your
garden?

There's an old saying that: "Those who turn their guns into plowshares
will plow for those who do not."

And by the way, don't blame the NRA. The NRA is doing exactly what
their members want it to. It's too bad we don't have such a strong
advocacy group for boaters. I'd join in a heartbeat.

I guess, if the member's goal is to make the shareholders VERY rich....

If that is what bothers you the money from the defense contractors
should send you into a frenzy.

And it doesn't seem to bother him that money goes to Planned
Parenthood!? I smell a hypocrite...

We need national defense. We don't need gun crazies ruling us.

What were we defending in the wars of the latter 20th and beginning of

Our freedom.

Who was threatening us? The Koreans? The Vietnamese? Granada? The
Bosnians? The Iraqis? The Afghans? Are the Iranians threatening us
now?

If we really just wanted security for the US we would have supported
the Palestinians in 1948.

Of course, had we supported the Germans in WWII, we wouldn't have had to
support the so-called Palestinians in 1948. If the so-called
Palestinians had accepted the UN proposal for a divided nation in 1947,
the problems there would have long been settled. But they didn't.

The Japanese, the Germans, the Koreans. The rest we aided others for
democracy. Do you think we can just get rid of all of our national
defense?
