I think the argument is based on the fact that you can have all the
commercialism you want but you can't actually celebrate the birth of
Christ. Is there a nativity scene in Rockefeller center? No

The real humbug is the fact that this became a shopping holiday the
day after Labor Day.

Christmas has become nothing more than a very commercially profitable
period.

For some folks, that's very true. For others, it's not.

What is it for a Christian-in-Name-Only like you, John the Racist?

What else is it?

A celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Why would a racist like you celebrate that birthday?

What year was that? And how do you know that happened?

Honestly, I'd have no clue what that would look like.

It looks more and more that way.

The local "China-mart" had some Christmas 'stuff' out before then...

Rockefeller Center is privately owned. Its management can decorate with
whatever holiday scenes it wishes without running afoul of the
Constitution.

One of our area Wal-Marts, one with a public sidewalk out in front of
it, was being picketed over the weekend, but not because of holiday
decorations.

What about labor at Rockefeller Center being forced by management to
participate in a religious activity? Why aren't you whining about that?
