Default catamarans/trimarans

Don't know much about the class, other than they are from the 60s. But as a
general rule most small cats have less cubic space than monos.

What 30' monohull comes close to the interior volume of my Gemini 3000

catamaran?

After about 36ft things start to equalise a little. Multis are usually
faster than monos. multis are more sensitive to weight and will lose

speed
rapidly when overloaded. While multis feel more stable they will not

right
themselves after a knockdown.

Can anyone tell a novice what advantages you have in a conventional
sailboat vs. a catamaran or trimaran.

Thanks
