Good point. I get irritated when people refer to Social Security as a
benefit. Only the insurance portion comes close to meeting that
description, and that is also paid for. Between what my wife and I
personally contributed, matched by our employers, amounts to a number
well into 7 figures. I would have happily taken that amount and
invested it on my own.
