Now the station down the street from me has a dedicated pump for 100%
petroleum gasoline with no alcohol. It costs about .20c. more per
gallon, but at least it's available locally. And *that's really good
to know seeing fall and winter is coming up. When you cut up about 10
+ car trailer loads of wood, it's comforting to know that I would be
burning up a $1000.00 Stihl *or Dolmar chainsaw.

And seeing I got rid of my pontoon, I've got my eyes set on a good
sized Jon boat for running the Wabash river, that is. *IF* *It ever
gets enough water in it to float a boat. LOL!

So, how much IS 20c more per gallon?

$3,45 U.S compared to $3.24 (today)

I dont think you folks have ANYTHING to complain about....... * Ours
is near the 5 dollar a gallon mark........

Who's griping? i was simply saying that the straight fossil fuel is
more expensive then the ethanol blend.

Yup. And when that happens I dump it in my Ford 8N tractor. It'll burn
about the proverbial anything.

No wayne, it hasn't gotten here yet. Probably due to the snail mail.
It'll make it here eventually though. I have confidence....

Yes, my dad years ago was trying to consolidate two cans of gas, only to
discover that one of the cans I had gotten kerosene in for the heater.
The old 8n ran fine on half kerosene and half gasoline!

Probably pinged and ran a bit sluggish, but it ate it..

Yeah, you wouldn't have wanted to plow with it, but pulled the hay wagon
just fine!

Wayne and Harry just got through telling me the ethanol scare is a
scam.

granted it wasn't an expensive saw,but I've burned up a couple weed
eaters and a Poulan /Chraftsman chain saw not because it wasn't a
wrong oil ratio, but because I got ahold of some gas that had a 20%
ethanol blend.

The saw ran hot and was losing power then quit. Went to start it and
was low on compression. I pulled the muffler and saw the piston was
badly scored. Same with the Weed eater. Both shared the same fuel.

I run a 50/50 mix of 100LL AVGAS and 93 Octane E10 pump gas in my
2-stroke OPE and they run great. *The 2-stroke oil I use has a fuel
stabilizer in it as well. *A friend of mine is a pilot who lives on one
of those private airstrips and keeps 1000 gallons of AVGAS in a tank at
his house. *Local airports might sell it to the guy with the red can,
too. *Don't ever use it in your car or your catalytic converter will
have a stroke!

I hope your " friend " realizes that Avgas has a SMALL " shelf life",
and that the octane count in that 1000 gallons has dropped more than
30 points !!! Storing 1000 gallons of Avgas in an unregulated method
is shear stupidity.

AVGAS has a much longer shelf live than pump gas. You have no idea how
much fuel he uses so where you got that 30 point number is a mystery.
He's a pilot with three planes on his property so no need to worry.
There is nothing unregulated about his tank. Do you think the fuel
truck would roll up and fill any sort of tank? Not here!
