Galaxy boats were built in Columbia SC, I am in Lexington SC a suburb.
They are long since out of business. Don't know about the 89 but they
built some really poor boats at times. I worked at a boat shop in the
early 70's when in school and used to go to their factory to pick up new
ones. I have seen them put wet plywood from out in the rain into a boat
floor and spray fibreglass on it!.

No way, that's crazy!

Not ass crazy as one may think. Bayliner and others had a poor
reputation of slopshoddy and weak hulls. Bare-bones stringers and
cheap materials in the transom.

My '77 Marquis was built in S. Carolina I believe, and it was a good
quality hull. It's got some material in it. But they've been out of
business as a small mfj. for quite some time. as well.

Now they are a name absorbed by some big conglom that used the same
name registry for blue water yachts.
