Actual Boating Post (Boat Launch)

Hi Group, We splashed the boat today. Took us about 3 hours to get it
set up. We trailer sail our Irwin 28' here in Idaho. We have to stand
the mast
and do various other things go get ready. Everything went fairly well
except the engine won't run. I had it running Friday night but Saturday
morning at the dock it wasn't getting any fuel. I'll have to pull the
carburetor and work on
it. Also the knot meter was working intermittently so I'll have to
figure that problem out too. Other than that a really good day about 76*
and very sunny. Winds were pretty flaky would come up then die made it
interesting getting back to the dock. We haven't had the boat in the
water since 2005. Was a little gun shy on raising and lowering the mast.
We have had problems before but now we've got a new system that works
really well. Moday worked on the problems. The knot meter worked fine.
It must have been sticking. The motor also worked fine. I didn't pull
the carburetor just hit the key and it started right up so I filled a
bucket of water and dropped a hose in it for the cooling system and ran
the engine a while. I guess it was like an outboard runs fine in the
barrel but will drive you crazy on the water. It's good to be back on
the water. Jim
