http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payroll_tax

Payroll tax generally refers to two different kinds of similar taxes.
The first kind is a tax that employers are required to withhold from
employees' wages

employers are required to withold from an employee's wages

IOW the employee pays them

BZZTT!! thanks for playing. what do we have for him, johnny?

----------------------------------------------------

It's BS, courting to class welfare.

OOOHH!!! the BOGEYMAN!!! CLASS WARFARE!!

HAHAHAHAAH

the MORON thinks there ISNT class warfare in this country

THERE IS!! the wealthy have had a 280% income increase in 30 years

the middle class had 30%

the weatlhiest 1% took 65% of the ENTIRE INCOME growth of the US in
the last 10 years.

and the right wing whimpers 'WAHH!!! everytime you tell the truth it's
class warfare!! WAAHHH!!'

go get your diapers changed you freakin' child

The middle class still owe the money,
they are just going to have to come up with it on April 15, and probably a
penalty for underpayment of taxes. Obama is just extending the reduction of
Withholding taxes. Not reducing the tax burden of the taxpayer. Now it
seems Obama claims to be channeling Teddy Roosevelt. But he is not Teddy.
Teddy R. Put bankers and corporate leaders in jail for crimes committed by
the corporations.

today the right wing wont permit it

you morons keep forgetting the US is so right wing that we had
politiicans SCREAMING at obama he should apologize to BP oil company
when they put 25,000 people out of work!!

the right wing keeps voting more extremist politicians into office.
and THIS is what we get

Obama and his Justice Department has prosecuted zero
miscreants. Fact his most of his close advisors are bankers. Obama and his
people only seem to think of increasing income to the Federal Government to
cut the deficit. Not cut spending as any individual, family or business
would do in a case where outgo exceeds income.

the ONLY way out of this is RESPONSIBLE REGULATION to RESTORE
CAPITALISM. the right wing wants a plutocracy

it's a waste of time to give tax cuts to the middle class because
they're all lazy and shiftless and can be replaced anyhow. god loves
the rich

so let's watch the GOP try to spin this

No need for spin - employees don't pay payroll taxes, employers do.

Damn Bob you got one right, in fact the 2% Obama cut is from the
employee side.
Unfortunately the employer side stayed the same so it did little to
help the unemployment problem

which, of course, is not the objective.

I thought "jobs" was job #1.
That is the flaw in the whole recovery. Without jobs, there is no
recovery, Welfare is not going to do anything but get us in more
trouble with the debt.

Obama is doing his best to preserve jobs, which is why he's not investigating the corruption in the
Justice Department.

True. Many welfare recipients don't buy durable goods - they steal
them. The illegal drugs many of them buy are not taxed and the use of
these drugs only add to the medical costs we pay for the indigent.

The employee withholding is part of their income tax. That withholding
doesn't change the income tax laws.
