My 91 merc. 5.0 LX with a Alpha I gen II dies when shifting into
reverse. This has happened suddenly after 12 years. I remember reading
that there is a cut-out switch in the throttle that may be the cause.
I have both service manuals but find no reference to it.

Any help would be appreciated.
