People with any common sense know...

Fox News viewers are less informed than people who don't watch any
news, according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The poll surveyed New Jersey residents about the uprisings in Egypt
and the Middle East, and where they get their news sources. The study,
which controlled for demographic factors like education and
partisanship, found that "people who watch Fox News are 18-points less
likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government" and
"6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown
their government" compared to those who watch no news.

Overall, 53% of all respondents knew that Egyptians successfully
overthrew Hosni Mubarak and 48% knew that Syrians have yet to
overthrow their government.

Dan Cassino, a political science professor at Fairleigh Dickinson,
explained in a statement, "Because of the controls for partisanship,
we know these results are not just driven by Republicans or other
groups being more likely to watch Fox News. Rather, the results show
us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people
to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at
all."

This isn't the first study that has found that Fox News viewers more
misinformed in comparison to others. Last year, a study from the
University of Maryland found that Fox News viewers were more likely to
believe false information about politics.

You seem to know quite a lot about Fox news. Are you one of the
viewers? Their internet news site certainly leaves a bit to be
desired and is loaded up with slow advertising scripts.

A non-scientific survey of the right-wing viewers of Fox here would
produce similar results.

I watch Hannity when I want to laugh at pure propaganda but I don't
have time to watch much else. The problem with Fox is that their
viewers are not uninformed, they're misinformed. It's a pretty sad
statement when people who don't actively listen to news are better
informed than people who watch Fox News.

It's just proof that they're not in the business of journalism. I'm
not saying that MSNBC or CNN are good journalists. They're all
miserable and play to their audiences but Fox is by far the worst.

Feeding 0bama's need for war to take peoples mind off of USA bankruptcy
in the making? Sounds like USA is following the pre-WW II
Germany...lots of debt so lets make war.

USA spends more on military than the top other 25 countries of the world
combined. Is Washington DC at war with the entire world? No wonder you
guys are broke....

Want some easy savings? Cut defense by 80%, that still leaves plenty
more than Russia and China combined.

Fleabaggers and their denial....like Pearl Harbour, eyes wide shut.

Not really, you just prove intelligence is relative. Too stupid to see
the sense.

We couldn't afford the job loss. Weapons are one of the last US
industries that have not been shipped offshore although a scary amount
of the electronics does come from Asia, along with a lot of the steel.

Sometimes you have to take a step back to fix a problem. But you can't
really have a sustainable business model making bombs that others don't
to drop on other countries as your president is having a **** or a house
leader wants to buy Raytheon stock. In the end there is no value in war
but poverty.

In the end, America has to produce something other than war, corrupt
banks and bull****. Or 3rd world here you come
