JUDY WOODRUFF: Do you view China as a potential military threat to the
United States?

HERMAN CAIN: I do view China as a potential military threat to the
United States. [...] They've indicated that they're trying to develop
nuclear capability and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like
we have. So yes, we have to consider them a military threat.
- - -

Uh, pizzaguy...China has had nuclear weapons for nearly 50 years.
Perhaps you should run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska...

I expect that he knows that Why do you think he doesn't?

Why would you think he would want to set his sights on a mayor's job
when the presidency is ripe for picking. Maybe you think a real black
man couldn't be president.

China having nukes is cold war thinking. Having aircraft carriers is
21st century thinking. If they can project conventional power like the
US does, it does blunt our monopoly on domination of 3d world
countries.
I am sure they also have an active drone program going too, basically
cloning our drones.

Some of us, yourself included, pay attention to the real news and are
aware the PRC has been modernizing its archaic military forces in many
ways and is interested in more ways to project force.

The "beyond dumb" part of Cain's statement is his belief China is
"...trying to develop nuclear capability..."

The PRC has had nuclear capability for a long time. The Russians helped
them get started but for many decades, the Chinese have been capable of
developing their own nukes. The PRC also has more than a dozen nuclear
power plants.

They're already well along in the process of developing their own
aircraft carriers and phasing out the hand-me-down carriers they now have.

Cain has proven over and again he knows nothing about foreign affairs
and not much about anything else. He's the perfect addition for a
Palin-Bachmann-Cain troika.

Ok, we should be easy on 0bama, he wasn't raised and American in his

Could be too some under the table deal is being cooked. 0bama really
would do anything to forget the debt and corruption issues. Maybe get
Israel and Iran to go at it and an excuse for the US to do more war.

And wouldn't doubt 0bama thinks this way with China.

Reality is USA is coming off as a delinquent debtor an war monger. I
wonder how many Libyans will grow up looking at the USA as a evil
empire. Hey, there were those that wanted Gaddafi out, but there are
going to be millions that will suffer because he is out.
