Enclosed or raw water cooling? The beeper is a warning device. Is it for oil, engine heat, charging system? does it sound off at engine idle, under cruse, plane? We need to know some specifics.... |

Thanks for nothing gnard, dont you have something better to do? FWIW, my Proline did the beeping thing, and I looked around, saw that the plastic lower unit oil bottle was full, and wondered what the problem was. Actually, the plastic bottle was almost empty, but had a layer of the oil stuck to the inside making it appear full - from the outside. So, if you've not done so, take the top off and actually look into the plastic bottle. You're probably a lot smarter than I was and have already done so. Another thing you could do is trace the wire from the beeper back to whatever sensor is causing the thing to go off. |

There are some good people here but they'll need to know things like the year, manufacturer, type and horsepower of the engine. The serial number is also useful to the experts and will certainly be required by any factory/dealer people. Assuming you have an engine built in the last 10 years or so, it probably has a computerized control and monitoring system. If so, your best bet is to find someone with a diagnostic tester. |
