I love it when you right-wing dumb****s, and I mean that in every sense of the word, play disingenuous. The voyages of Columbus and the ensuing Spanish colonization foreshadowed the general European invasion of the so-called New World. Those voyages led to centuries of European exploration and exploitation and slaughter and enslaving of indigenous populations, and, according to Columbus himself, infecting the New World with Christianity, and, of course, pillaging and spread of white man's diseases. You're correct - what is now the United States was far better off when tribes were slaughtering each other. Columbus never set foot on what would be now the 48 contiguous states; his comments to the same, if true, would have been based on hearsay or rumor. |

Did Columbus really say this "infecting the New World with Christianity"? I think you are lying again. Lying would imply he knew accurate information and deliberately distorted or ignored the information - you're too generous. |

The Europeans brought with them to the "New World" a plethora of deadly diseases unknown to the indigenous population. The Native Americans referred to these diseases (such as, for example, smallpox, I believe,as "white man's diseases.) There were many of these. As to Christianity, Columbus referred to the bringing of Christianity to the "New World" his greatest accomplishment. For the indigenous population, however, it was just another white man's disease. Snotty is so ****ing stupid, it's big of you to offer a little perspective to him myopic world. But you're wasting your time. Wah! Ha!Ha! "Snotty is so ****ing stupid, it's big of you to offer a little perspective to him myopic world" Intellectualism at it's finest. Even if you knew what you were saying, there are still punctuation, capitalization, and spelling issues. |

Oh, and let's not forget the white man's diseases the Christian missionaries brought to the Hawaiian Islands while destroying that indigenous culture. Then, taken over by the great folks that bombed it in 1941 - Hawaii just can't win - they even send Muslims to the mainland to become president. |

The difference is, the people of the north didn't come here to "claim," to colonize, to rape and pillage the New World, to enslave, and to spread their particular religious cult. Columbus and those who followed did. And that's what they did. And how does that differ from NATO forces with Americans and their bombs doing over Libya? Or CIA in other countries? You think NATO forces are colonizing Libya, raping its women and pillaging the country, and trying to convert the Muslims to Christianity? Wow! Nope, just send bombs into homes killing non-participating unarmed kids. For oil, gold and control of a central bank with no debt. Oh, and assassination attempt gone wrong. That is why Obama put the ht on Osama, to cloud the both job in Libya. -- Eat the rich, screw the companies and wonder why there are no jobs. Sexual morality in one's teen years means not getting any girls pregnant and not transmitting/catching a disease. Real morality means doing everything you can to make sure there are no starving, homeless, jobless, healthcareless people around. |
