Not hard to imagine who is behind book banning.

Brave new world is the only one I read. I can see why some people
think it is scandalous. Sex, drugs, test tube babies and questioning
god.
I am sure Falwell can get 1000 letters with one tirade on TV.

Personally I think the whole idea of banning books is silly. I would
have never read the Tropic if Cancer if it had not been banned and I
don't think I actually finished it. Once you got past the George
Carlin "7 word" rant on page 5 it really started dragging on and I
started not to care about these people's miserable lives.


It wouldn't surprise me to see Falwell propped up and whining about
these books. Of course, he's been dead for four years but that wouldn't
matter to his audience, which has been brain-dead for decades.

The whole thread is a joke. They allowed the book, just not for younger
kids. It's the same with a lot of other books, but we know that if you
"compromise" with progressives, within a short time they are no longer
satisfied with that compromise and move on to the real end they were
looking for when they made the compromise... Most of these issues are
about the age that you get to start to indoctrinate, not if you do or not...

Because most of the books in question are books that support his sick
ideology... And like a good progressive, he feels it's their job to
shove it down your kids throats as young as possible... Don't want those
pesky parents getting their stupid morals and beliefs to their own kids
first...

The whole thread is a joke. They allowed the book, just not for younger
kids. It's the same with a lot of other books, but we know that if you

At the time of the Tropic of Cancer deal it was a city wide ban and I
am not talking about Birmingham or Boston. It was Washington DC and
virtually everywhere else in the US.
When they finally lifted the ban, the book flew off the shelves and
was just a quickly thrown away by most of the people who bought it I
imagine.

These days all of this is pretty silly. Has anyone looked at what is
on basic cable?

says "God Bless You" however, you can be sure your kids will be
