Looking for kayak building class
Hi I was curious to know if anyone knew of any kayak building classes?
I have found a couple online but haven't been able to find much information about them. I would like a class where I can keep the boat I build. Thanks for any help offered. |

Classes are available in skin-on-frame and stitch-&-glue construction, but I haven't heard of anyone who teaches strip building. Where area you located? There are schools all over the country. |

Ultimately I would like a strip building class but I would be open to
the stitch & glue or maybe the skin-on-frame. I am in Dallas, Tx so I know I will have to travel to any of the schools. So far I have found the class at Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking building one of the Guillemot Kayaks and the Redfish Kayak class at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. I have also found the class that builds one of the CLC boats. So I was just curious if there were others out there that I am missing or opinions on any of the classes. Mystic Seaport offers several classes, including SOF kayak building. http://www.mysticseaport.com/participate/nf4-index.htm The WoodenBoat School offers a lot of classes, including strip building and S&G construction. http://www.woodenboat.com/wbschool.htm |
