Would kayaking be making my nails grow faster?

I seem to be cutting my fingernails all the time now, maybe every week
or two. The only thing I can think of that is different recently is that
I am paddling twice a week, where I used to do not too much exercise.

Could paddling be making my fingernails grow? how?!

Yes, I think that just by speeding up your metabolism yuor fingernails would
grow faster.

I have to laugh, because I forgot that I noticed this exact same thing when
I first started boating!! I think it has to do with all the water
continuously washing under the tips of your nails, making them very clean
and seem like they are actually longer. Also, I think wrapping your hands
around a paddle shaft will work your fingertips a lot, resulting in your
nails becoming a bit 'looser' at the tips (and maybe making them grow
faster). In the long run, I think I found that mine were not actually
growing faster, but just the white tip was longer because the pink part was
pushed down farther. It gave me more to chew on before big runs.

Thanks. It all sounds plausible.

I've definately been cutting them more often. I play piano and guitar so
I notice it.
