Unfortunately if you look back on the last few boating posts, don and
harry attacked them before the first legit response...

Several more folks have left in the last couple weeks, I guess we are at
the G's in the alphabet...

1. There are very few actual recreational boaters here, maybe a handful.
Most have moved on to other venues.

2. *Most* of the remaining regular posters in this newsgroup are
right-wing ideologues who snarl and snap at anyone who disagrees with
their ultra-conservatism.

3. There are a plethora of posters who get their kicks by posting with
the posting IDs of other posters and who use that mechanism to see if
they can create problems.

4. The most prolific poster these days is an anti-American, racist
asshole who uses the handle Canuck57. Whatever anyone posts, his
comeback posts are full of venom, and really weird interpretations of
reality and history.

This is no longer a venue for recreational boaters, and it never will be
again.

Welcome back Norm. There are still a few boaters here contrary to
some of the gloom and doom reports but unfortunately boaters have lost
"critical mass" as the physicists like to say. Some boaters are
still lurking and just need an on topic post or two to become active
again.

"rec.boats.cruising" has its issues also but on balance there is more
on topic posting there than here.

So what's your boating like these days? We're spending the summer in
the northeast on our trawler, taking a little vacation from the heat
and humidity in south Florida, and revisiting some of our old favorite
cruising harbors.

It's not doom and gloom to point out that there are only a "few" boaters
still active in rec.boats...it's the truth.

If you are interested in cut and paste non boating posts, I have set up
a new Google group. While we don't have any boating posts, I have done
my best to make sure I limit the group to liberals. If I have any
questions about the members ID, I will delete them from my approved list
of members. While no one has actually made any derogatory comments or
personal insults, I want to make sure I don't have any right wing trash
in my group.

Ahh, the mindless ID spoofer is active again.

1. At least 90% of the posts on rec-boating-fishing deal with
recreational boating and fishing.

2. There's no "political" check. The single important rule simply states
"no insulting of other posters."

3. There are more boaters reading and posting on rec-boating-fishing
than there are in rec.boats.

Wait, I am sorry, I did brag about kicking out some poseurs who had
never insulted anyone in my group. I just thought they might be the
ones who were reading my group and seeing that there were next to no
actually boating posts. I can't have these right wing trash even
reading my group. They stink. Now, Don had occasionally linked a news
article that included the word Boat, but no one bothered to respond to
the post. I think the closest we had to a boating discussion was Don
talking about how little he used his boat, and he thought it made more
sense to buy a motorcycle instead of buying a boat.

If you want a giggle, join my group, and see what a real circle jerk is.

It's been months since I've seen one from you, for instance.
