I thought manatees was s'posed to swim
The younger gen of girls have let themselves go (or course I expect
the guys have too). Cruising up and down the Wakulla River yesterday watching the young'uns swimming in the clear cold water, I expected to see a few good lookin girls. We passed one boat full of kids and my friend says, "Look at the babes on that boat", I reply, "I thought the manatees were supposed to be in the water". Whatever happened to the beautiful slender girls of my youth? The girls of my youth all had flat tummies, not an ounce of fat and not a muffin top in sight. Today, it looks like the strategic petroleum reserve in bikinis. |

My suggestion is that you sit on the steps of the library at FSU or UF and watch the parade. I did that two decades ago when I had relatives attending both. I doubt the quality of the parade has diminished. -- Want to discuss recreational boating and fishing in a forum where personal insults are not allowed? http://groups.google.com/group/rec-boating-fishing |

There's a biological reason for it, as well as a social/economic element. More poor people tend to eat lower quality food, which is higher in fat/sugar content. |

I figure that the time saved is worth it but I dont get the perk of watchin the girls. HOWEVER, I still think they've gotten heftier mostly cuz they all got cars now and don't get any exercise. We'd ride our bikes all the time and as I worked as a bicycle mechanic, I could use that to meet girls, "If you'd let me pump up that tire, it'd be a lot easier to ride.....". "Tutoring" was a great gig and I could pick the best ones for multiple sessions. |

Inviting a girl to go canoeing was always a fantastic way to get closer to her when she is in a bathing suit at a deserted swimming spot. Something about canoeing they could not resist. It was cheap too which was important as I had no money at all. |

Well, it's very easy to make a claim about lack of exercise being the reason, and perhaps it is for college students, but that doesn't fully explain the general population weight gains. As I said, it's a combination of several things, including biology and socio-economic issues. |

Not much opportunity to get fat then. |

No such luck these days. A deal indeed. Many of the well-rated private universities around here are getting $1000 to $2000 a credit. Out of state tuition at the University of Maryland, a public institution, is $25,000 a year; instate is close to $9000. The rates are so high that soon we'll be a nation of intellectual slugs like Tosk, Canuck, or the Loogywannabe. -- Want to discuss recreational boating and fishing in a forum where personal insults are not allowed? http://groups.google.com/group/rec-boating-fishing |
