Extortion, violence, murder.

Why am I not surprised that you have no problem with those those who do
such things?

If Christianity is a religion of peace, then how come so many people
die
in the name of Christianity?

At last Christianity has a part about respecting thy neighbors. Never
saw that anywhere in the Koran. Even if it was in the Koran it
would be
superseded by the "infidel" parts as the Koran does very much
classify
people in a preferential way.

I am an agnostic, borderline atheist. Personally the only value
religion
cn offer mankind is teachings of peace for those minds not big
enough to
comprehend more. I am not anti nor pro religion, just that the bible
did
help us mature as a species. But mature enough to survive in the long
term view, if falls very short.

Even various factions of Islam kill each other. You could win the war
just by letting them go at themselves. No US intervention required.

That's not responsive to the question.

My posit is that both Islam and Christianity are responsible for many,
many deaths, and that in regard to "committing murder" in the name of
their god, there's really no difference between the two.

Oh, and various factions of Christianity kill or have killed each
other,
for the sake of "their" interpretation of Christianity.

Christians like to claim a higher moral ground for their religion.
History says that's hogwash.

Agreed there. Roman Catholics for example, Popes favorite buddies are
mafia as they think they can buy their way to heaven. I really get a
snicker out of that.

That is why separation of church and state is a huge step for mankind.

Well, though I am not Catholic, I do admire much of what certain popes
and certain nuns have done to improve the plight of the poor.

Lots of good people in the churches no doubt.

I don't have any problems with the old Mafia. Growing up where and when
I did, I knew the sons and daughters of some Mafia captains. Their
fathers were no less and probably more honorable than many of today's
corporate executives. The father of a girl I dated was in the Mafia. He
took me along on a family vacation trip to Florida when I was 16, and
wouldn't let me spend a dollar. That was my first trip to South Florida.

Sorry, mafia sin for 6 and repent with money on the 7th cannot be gods
way (provided you believe in god). More like the "image" and PR play.

God's way? No one knows if there is a god or if there is, what god's way
might be. All we have is man's belief there is a god. There isn't an
iota of proof of the existence of a supreme being.

Hey, like I said I am a border line atheist. Probably better said
agnostic. I sure don't believe we are made in gods image crap. Because
the way this world works, amazing we got this far up the evolutionary
ladder. But I suspect that will change in the next 500 years or sooner.
Man is hitting his apex as a species. From here in the down hill ride.

For example, world population growth has long since past sustainability.
And incidents like Japan's radioactive pollution of the oceans, over
fishing, over harvesting, we have a situation where if for one year,
Canada, US and Russia had a major crop failure of biblical proportions
that 4 billion people would starve to death after striping the land of
even the weeds.

Bound to happen sooner or later. You and I can afford a 10kg flour at
$100 but some poor uneducated in a backwards country making $2k a year
of government money for nothing isn't. Situations like Haiti, Somalia
will be common place in 10 or 20 years.

God's world? Hardly. If it is, it is a god I will not partake in.

"More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall
hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the
great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; that's
why all this has happened.

Since then I have spent well-nigh fifty years working on the history of
our Revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected
hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight
volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by
that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as
possible the main cause of the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some
sixty million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to
repeat: Men have forgotten God; that's why all this has happened.

What is more, the events of the Russian Revolution can only be
understood now, at the end of the century, against the background of
what has since occurred in the rest of the world. What emerges here is a
process of universal significance. And if I were called upon to identify
briefly the principal trait of the entire twentieth century, here too, I
would be unable to find anything more precise and pithy than to repeat
once again: Men have forgotten God."

- Aleksander Solzhenitsyn

Yup!

As I see it, the problem is not god, it is religion and what man does in
the name of what or who he believes is god. The world, I believe, would
be far better off without what we call religion.

Sex with a minor child at 13, hanging with the mafia at 16, mandatory
aborting of any child with a birth defect; those are your morals
(actually lack of morals) which have shaped who you are now.

You are your own god with your own religion, which you attempt to force
upon others.

At the end of the block is a circle. A house full of Mexicans, with about eight
to ten cars is at the very end, and next to him lives Mohammed, his wife, and
two very nice daughters. Mohammed has a rough time with written English, and he
often asks me for help with things like new lawn mowers, gas edger, etc.

Mohammed has lived in his house for as long as we've been here, but the Mexicans
moved in about five years ago. The Mexicans didn't bother asking Mohammed
anything, they just started using his front lawn as a driveway when their
driveway was full and the guy closest to the house needed out.

Mohammed asked me for help. He's afraid to call the police, because he's afraid
of the Mexicans. I offered to help him put up a decorative fence between the
properties. He's not decided yet.

Interesting quandary.

I thought you lived in an area with Deed Restrictions and an HOA. If
so, sounds simple.... if not, there are other issues:

Health Department: septic system overload or restrictions of occupancy
vs square footage?
Landlord: who is on the lease?

in any event, a little old fashion communication would at least clear
the air about who is standing what ground.....

Nope, no HOA or deed restrictions. No septic system, and the county does little
to enforce the law with respect to illegals. If the folks in the house say
they're related, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc., there is no check of birth
certificates. They may live together.

Communication is always good. But, Mohammed is afraid. I don't blame him.

Just march down there in your old uniform and explain to your Mexican
neighbors how and why they are not meeting your standards of behavior.
Have someone videotape it so we can watch the end game.

The only way Islam spread was through phyiscal conquest and then forcing
the the populace to convert or have their heads chopped off.

Hopefully, Herring's "Mexican" neighbors are in MS-13.

Too bad they haven't tried to invade your home.

Why would they do that? I don't dislike Latinos. Herring does. Plus, he
lives in an area populated by MS-13 gang members. I don't.
