and supposed to get to 70. Think I'll do a little filling and sanding this
morning and take the family for a little river cruise this afternoon. Not
that I'd rub it in or anything.
There has got to be 60 holes in the cockpit of my old boat where gear was
moved around (mostly filled but poorly) and where I've removed small
fittings like jam cleats and strap eyes. I'm redoing the non skid so I think
my patches will hide better.

It's 48 here, headed to 66. We're going to brunch with some friends,
then we're all going to the rifle club to burn some powder. I'm
headed down to the shop to weld up a target holder to take with us.

Ya'll have fun!

It's only in the 20's here and supposedly will get up to 41. Winter is
so...boring. :)

Though I *will* take the 60 degrees they promise....

I'm *really* tired of icy decks and slick roads....

The temp (38F) isn't bad, but the three inch layer of snow on the ground makes
golfing impossible.

Checked the boat yesterday, and found the shrink wrap held up to the snow quite
well. Felt sorry for some of the folks who lost their boat covers due to the
weight of the wet snow we had.

Yeah, I could use some 70 degree weather.

Use orange whiffle balls, asshole. And see if you can catch a bit of
hypothermia while you're at it.

It got down to 70 back around late October, in the evening. It usually
doesn't get much below 75-79 or so at night . . . . . 85-95 during the
day . . . year 'round.

freezing rain, then by Wednesday down into the 20's for the high.

Hey its February!

Yeah, but your rainy season sucks. BTDT.

Where are you guys at? What does it cost for 30-50 acres with a house,
out in the sticks in your area?? Really, I am gonna' do this;)

You probably could afford a deserted former pig farm.

No, I couldn't get either of my sons interested in attending one of
the service academies even though I promised them each a new Corvette
if they graduated and received their commission. It actually would
have been a good deal for me but they saw right through it and I ended
up spending a lot more than that on tuition. My oldest however does
have his name on a trophy at the naval academy sailing center for his
accomplishments elsewhere. It would be tempting to call him a chip
off the old block but in sailing circles these days I'm more often
known as "Peter's Dad".

That's a shame. They'd have gotten a hell of an education for a five year
commitment. Most academy grads get their masters, paid for by the military,
also.
