Boating weather...

Well, not here in SC. Over 4 inches of snow, and it's still falling,
but lightly now. Sticking to everything, even the roads. It's
supposed to change over to freezing rain in a couple of hours, and
that's forecasted to leave 1/4 of an inch of ice on top. Not good.

Yuck. We've got this in our prediction for tomorrow:

"Snow likely in the morning...then sleet...snow and rain in the
afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Highs in the
lower 30s. East winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100
percent."

Nothing, here, yet... but all schools have been cancelled and 4-6
inches is predicted with the 1/4 in. of glaze for good measure...

And I was hoping to take in a bit of sun out on the deck. :)

I wish you southern boys would keep that snow & freezing rain to yourself.
Very pleasant up here today with the sun making an appearance and yesterdays
snow melting off the roads.
Tomorrow should be sunny and about 34 F .... but we get more of your nasty
stuff on Wednesday.

Not here either, unless you're a die-hard headed for fishing at the
Newton power plant cooling lake. Water never freezes there...

Does it glow?

We have a nuke plant on the Bay near us. I like to fish near the coolant
outflow pipe. You used to be able to fish right up against the plant's
docks, but 9-11 took care of that.

A few miles south of the nuke plant are the concrete gas docks. They are
about a mile out into the Bay. Another formerly great fishing spot
closed off in the aftermath of 9-11.

Here's a county photo of the gas docks:
