Ahead of the storm into Green Turtle
Left Spanish Cay because it was poorly protected from the strong west
wind andd sailed down to Green Turtle arriving just ahead of the cold front with its lightning and strong wind increase. We reached 7 kts in my 28' sailboat screaming along with the wind abeam. Wind increased to nearly 30 kts last night and is about 25 today so we are stuck at Green Turtle, not a bad place to be stuck for a couple days. Have taken the opportunity to fix my delaminating tiller. Food is bizarro expensive here. "Frogwatch" aboard "Ragtime" |

"Frogwatch" aboard "Ragtime" West? We were there last weekend and it was 20 out of the east the whole time. Nasty going, great coming back. Wind will moderate tomorrow so we will be off to MArsh Harbor. Should be able to do "Don't Rock" passage at high tide. Only 20 miles to Marsh Harbor. One odd thing that happened was that I met a guy from Tallahassee. We were describing our families and it turns out he is my brothers best friend, wierd. I highly reccomend this place "The Other Place" marina and the associated "Pineapples" bar. Inexpensive dockage and good food. The town of New Plymouth is really pretty. We have all developed a taste for cracked conch. "Frogwatch" on "Ragtime" |
