How to handle a troll

Rec.boats as with most Usenet Newsgroups has it fair share of Trolls.
These are people who come here trolling for fights. They are fairly
effective in using the correct bait. If you really want to ****
him/her/them off, ignore he/her/them. They come in here posting
inflammatory links and wild make believe stories just to get a rise from
others. Trolls normally live a lonely life in the real world, so don't
give him/her/them the attention they crave.

For 2011, lets really **** off the trolls and ignore him/her/them.

I've made that a standard practice for a long time.
