Bull****. Young teachers are well aware before they get into the
profession that time on the job results in scale increase. The same is
true for firemen, policemen, most civil servants and many workers in the
private sector.
Many other "union" workers.
Time in grade does not assure proficiency.
Michelle Rhee proved paying for performance raises achievement levels.
One more time: the biggest problem with public schools...the parents of
the students.
Agreed but the question is, how do you improve parents who are not
there or do not care?
DC school system improved without replacing the parents.
Careful...when I mentioned parents, I got called a racist. Funny how things get
turned around.
