Y'know. you look at 'most' of the ordanance and military equipment the Rooskies bu,ilt well...they were ugly and crude, but usually v-e-r-r-r- r-y efficient! Some military equipment designed during the time of and in the Soviet empire (and that includes all those countries the Sovs took over) was quite elegant, if simple, in design. Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZ), the Czech small arms conglomerate built and still builds some physically attractive and very efficient weapons. I have a CZ pistol and it is the equal in every way of the high-end Sig target pistol I used to own. It isn't stainless steel, like the Sig, but it is beautifully finished *and* out of the box, it fires faster and is slightly more accurate. I've been thinking of getting a .45 ACP pistol; there are many brands, including American brands, from which to choose. CZ makes a very nice one, and it is on my list to consider. I've seen and handled other Czech small arms. Many of them are very impressive. The former Sov states, even when they were Sov states, were innovative in design and manufacture of pistols, rifles, shotguns, et cetera. |
